Expert Support Through Every Step of the EHCP Process

Navigating the EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) and tribunal process can be complex and emotionally draining — but you don’t have to face it alone...

Our team provides clear, compassionate guidance at every stage, working alongside specialist solicitors to ensure your child’s rights and needs are properly represented. Whether you’re preparing an appeal, reviewing documents, or attending a tribunal, we’re here to help you feel confident and supported.

EHCP Draft Checks

When you receive a draft EHCP, it’s essential to ensure it accurately reflects your child’s needs and the provision required to meet them. We carefully review draft plans, checking for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with legal requirements. Our goal is to help you secure a plan that truly supports your child’s education and wellbeing before it’s finalised.

Refusal to Assess for an EHCP

If your Local Authority refuses to assess your child for an EHCP, it can feel disheartening — but you have the right to challenge that decision. We’ll guide you through the appeal process, helping you gather evidence, prepare your case, and work with legal professionals to present a strong and well-supported appeal.

Appeal Against Contents of an EHCP / Placement

If you’ve received an EHCP but disagree with the contents or the placement named, we can help you appeal. We’ll review the plan in detail, identify areas that don’t meet your child’s needs, and work with you to request the necessary amendments or a more suitable placement. Our team ensures your appeal is presented clearly and effectively.

Annual Review Support

EHCPs must be reviewed at least once a year, but this process can sometimes feel rushed or unclear. We offer support with annual reviews to ensure progress is accurately recorded, needs are reassessed where necessary, and any changes to provision are properly documented. Our involvement helps ensure the review leads to meaningful outcomes for your child.

Working Document

During the tribunal process, the Working Document becomes a key part of negotiating and agreeing amendments to an EHCP. We assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating this document, ensuring it accurately reflects the needs, evidence, and discussions taking place. Our goal is to make sure your child’s support plan is both accurate and legally sound.

Pre-Action Protocol Letter

Before a judicial review or legal challenge is initiated, a Pre-Action Protocol Letter is often required. We help prepare this document in collaboration with specialist solicitors, outlining the issues, the legal basis for challenge, and the actions sought from the Local Authority. This step can often lead to resolution without the need for a tribunal.

Case Review Form

We offer detailed case reviews to assess where you are in the EHCP or appeal process, identify gaps in evidence or documentation, and recommend next steps. This structured review helps clarify your position and ensures your case is fully prepared before any formal appeal or tribunal hearing.

Tribunal Hearing Advice & Support

Facing a tribunal can feel daunting, but our experienced team provides practical advice and emotional support throughout the process. We’ll help you prepare your evidence, understand what to expect on the day, and coordinate with legal representatives where necessary. Our aim is to help you approach your hearing with confidence and clarity.
