Parenting a child with additional needs can be daunting and feel overwhelming . Many parents report that they receive a diagnosis and are left to fend for themselves, others are at the start of the diagnostic pathway, and some are unsure whether there is a reason to be concerned about some traits their young person may be displaying. We understand this frustration and feeling of loss and desperation. We also understand the achievements and feelings of hope and elation when things go well.

Programmes

We are currently running the following programmes to help you at differing stages:

  • Beginning the autism journey, funded by KCC Early Help grant.

  • Participants are entitled to up to 4 sessions with ourselves, dependent on need (established in the first appointment).
  • Supporting the autism family, funded by The National Lottery Community Fund & Government as part of the Coronavirus Community Fund.
  • Intensive support for families/carers who have a young person diagnosed or on the pathway to diagnosis of autism spectrum condition. Participants must live in the Swale, Maidstone or Thanet areas of Kent.
  • 6 weeks of support from ourselves and Mid Kent Mind, 2 appointments each week.
